Belarus — Electromobilization engine in the space of the former USSR


As you know, today the leading integration mechanism in the space of the former # of the USSR is the Eurasian Economic Union, and its executive body of the Eurasian Economic Commission. Within the framework of the EAEU, many economic issues are now being resolved, including customs duties on electric cars imported into the territory of countries in # Union.

Previously, last year it was decided to introduce zero customs duty on the import of electric vehicles into the EAEU territory. The decision is currently valid now, but its term is limited to the end of this year. It is clear that in one year, even the cancellation of customs duties, cannot form any noticeable electric vehicle market, and therefore develop the relevant services and infrastructure.

And here, the unconditional «engine» of the electric machine process has been Belarus for several years. It was A.G. # Lukashenko Multiple and consistently declares that the future of transport is electric cars, and reinforces their words actions within the republic, developing a national network of charging stations, as well as canceling customs duties for electric vehicles, and almost completely compensating for customers of electrocarbar # VAT.

And this time, # Belarus again puts forward the next initiative in the framework of the EAEU in favor of the development of the electric vehicle market. In the department of customs tariff and non-tariff regulation of the Commission of the EAEU

We assume that the proposal of the Belarusian side will be supported by other members of # EAU, in particular Armenia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. The Russian side, I suppose with a lot of confidence, will not oppose the adoption of this decision. Of course, it will be beneficial to Russian electric car and companies selling electric vehicles. Although in Russia, in contrast to the same Belarus, VAT on # electric vehicles still spreads, and this significantly increases the electrocarios imported into the country. At the same time, based on these statistics, each year the fleet of electric vehicles in Russia doubles, and in two years there can be about 50-70 thousand. This means that from «exotic» they will become an important and essential part of the Russian automotive economy, which will lead a significant increase in demand for the development of the charging infrastructure and the entire electric motor ecosystem.
