They love now, of course, at the suggestion of Elon Musk, to give bright names to new plants. Some have Giga, some have Micro, and Indians have Future. This is exactly what the Futurefactory named its new plant Bhavish Aggarwal, head of the Indian company Ola. Although, in fact, this plant should be called differently.

Let me remind you that the Indian company #ola, founded 11 years ago, is today one of the largest in India and in the world, which provides the client with a choice of transportation options from kicksharing to taxi. Naturally, everything with Indian characteristics, where there are also cycle rickshaws, passenger tricycles. The company also operates in Australia, New Zealand, and the UK. Ola’s services geography covers more than 250 cities, serving hundreds of millions of consumers, in collaboration with more than 1.5 million partner drivers.

Ola executives have long stated that their strategic goal is to create an affordable and sustainable transportation environment based on electric mobility.

One of the ways to solve this problem was the construction of our own factory, which will produce # electric scooters of our own design. And this is not some kind of start, this is a modern production, in the creation of which $ 325 million of our own funds were invested. #futurefactory is located in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Its production capacity is declared at the level

Serious volume of production. Even by Indian standards. Now imagine how much oil products, for example, over 10 years of production, # Ola electric scooters will be taken out of the market. This is an important task, but it is only one of the tasks of this project.

The most important thing about this project is that the Futurefactory becomes the largest factory in the world where I work and is run by only # women. This is done to help reduce female unemployment in the country. # Female employment in India is about 21%, which is even lower than in Afghanistan, according to the World Bank.

Also, introducing the peculiarities of the archaic social structure of Indian society, it will give the women of India more rights, more strength and self-confidence. Agree, sometimes, when you hear news from India related to crimes against the fair sex, to put it mildly, you do not understand how such a thing is generally possible in the 21st century. And the Ola project, I think, will be of great importance not only in terms of promoting electric transport in the country, but also of great social importance.

It’s really cool when an innovative-minded company executive implements his ideas while simultaneously addressing pressing social issues. Naturally, a modern plant will be largely robotized. Some of the concerns will be performed by about 3,000 robots.

According to Professor Amit Kapoor, India’s social structure is dominated by men. In particular, in farming villages, women are forced to do housework from an early age and do not have access to education, so they are unlikely to become part of the workforce. There are serious inequalities in wealth between urban and rural residents, and gross domestic product per capita in Bihar, one of the country’s poorest states, is only about one-tenth that of Greater Delhi.

Well, now you can tell a little about the Ola S1 electric scooter itself.

Its price, given that the rate of the Indian rupee to the Russian ruble is almost 1/1, is practically

The scooter has a very friendly, and one might even say, funny design. Its control interface is simple and intuitive.

And also, importantly, the company will not only produce the electric scooters themselves, but also create a parallel ecosystem, including charging stations and charging and exchange stations.

Ola is going to hold a $ 1-2 billion #ipo next year. Now, according to experts, the company is estimated at $ 8 to $ 14 billion.
