The beginning of this century, in principle, did not bode well for anything revolutionary. At least, so it seemed to most. But at the turn of the second and third decades of the 21st century, electric cars, small electric vehicles for personal mobility and clean energy burst into our lives, or rather returned. Now they are only on the rise, but the trend is absolutely obvious and irreversible. But that’s not all.

In one and a half to two decades, we will see explosive growth in another area, in aviation, more precisely in airmobility. Already today, modern accumulators and hydrogen fuel cells make it possible to create working, purely electric models of aircraft of various types and layouts. The class of these machines was designated #evtol. That is, thanks to the use of electric impellers as a motor, the «airplane» no longer needs a long runway, but it can take off and land vertically.

Italy is the birthplace of some of the most beautiful cars. They have always paid great attention not only to the technical component, but also to the appearance. We can now observe the same thing on the example of the developing Italian project Manta Aircraft.

The company has now created a # 1: 3 scale flying prototype. It is used to work out the aerodynamic circuit, control electronics and, of course, the impellers themselves. The working prototype is purely electric, that is, battery-powered. At first, the full-size car will be equipped with a hybrid power plant. Manta expects that their car will find a wide application, ranging from the sector of personal airmobility, and to vehicles of various services. A cargo modification is also being developed.

But the most interesting thing, and it was not for nothing that I started with the design, this is practically #fantastic design of the car. She seemed to have stepped off the screen of a sci-fi movie. Futurism is given not only by 8 electric motors, but also by the «canard» nasal scheme, as well as the rear twin tail unit. # ann2 is made entirely of composite materials, which allows for an advantageous power-to-weight ratio.

The # car project turned out to be quite beautiful. The main thing is for ANN2 to learn to fly, with the declared characteristics. If it succeeds, it could be a step that will revolutionize the entire small aviation segment by making it as affordable as # a car.
